About Lehigh Carbon Community College

LCCC: Your local gateway to accessible education and a brighter future since 1966.

Lehigh Carbon Community College (LCCC) stands as a cornerstone of accessible, quality education in Eastern Pennsylvania. As a public community college, LCCC is dedicated to empowering its 2,733 students by providing essential pathways to career success, further education, and personal growth. Under the leadership of President Ann D. Bieber, LCCC fosters a supportive and engaging environment where students from diverse backgrounds can thrive.

Established on March 31, 1966, originally as Lehigh County Community College, LCCC began its journey by holding classes in the former Lehigh County Courthouse. A significant milestone arrived in 1972 with the construction of modern facilities, laying the groundwork for the vibrant campus we see today. Demonstrating its commitment to broader community service, the institution was renamed Lehigh Carbon Community College in 1994, strategically aiming to extend its reach and increase enrollment from nearby Carbon County.

Today, LCCC continues to adapt and innovate to meet the evolving needs of its students. In addition to its main campus, the college operates convenient off-campus learning centers, including the Donley Center in Allentown and the John Morgan Center in Tamaqua, ensuring educational opportunities are within reach. While its campus radio station, WLHI, which once streamed globally, was sold in 2013, LCCC remains focused on delivering relevant and impactful education, leveraging modern approaches to learning, including growing online options.
