About Life Pacific University

Life Pacific University: Christ-Centered Education with a Rich Historical Legacy.

Life Pacific University (LPU) stands as a vibrant private institution dedicated to a "Christ Centered - Spirit Filled" mission. With a student body of 780, LPU offers a unique educational experience for those seeking to integrate faith into every aspect of their learning and future careers. Led by President Angie Richey, the university is committed to nurturing students within a supportive and spiritually enriching environment.

LPU's story began in 1923, founded by the visionary Aimee Semple McPherson as the Echo Park Evangelistic and Missionary Training Institute in Los Angeles. It quickly evolved, changing its name to LIFE Bible College in 1926 and establishing deep roots in the Foursquare Evangelism movement. After decades of growth and impact, the institution moved to its current San Dimas, California home in 1990, marking a new chapter in its development.

Today, LPU thrives as a university, having been restructured in 2019 to include the College of Arts and Sciences and the College of Theology and Ministry. This expansion allows LPU to offer a diverse range of programs designed to equip students not only academically but also spiritually for service and leadership. The university continues its legacy through its LPU Virginia extension campus, carrying forward its foundational commitment to transforming lives through higher education.
