After initially holding classes at Manhattan High School, MATC moved to its dedicated campus on Dickens Ave in 1967. It was renamed the Manhattan Area Technical Center in 1992 and formally recognized as Manhattan Area Technical College in 1996 through Kansas legislation, a significant milestone that elevated its status.
