Established on April 1, 1967, as a key component of the Illinois community college system, MCC began its journey holding classes in a rented facility in Crystal Lake. Driven by growth and a commitment to its students, the college soon embarked on a significant expansion, commencing construction in 1974 on its present 68-acre campus, formerly known as Weber Farm. By May 1976, the college had fully transitioned to its modern facilities, laying the groundwork for continuous development and an ever-expanding student body.
