Mid-America Christian University (MACU) stands as a vibrant center for faith-based higher education, dedicated to empowering students with a Christ-centered learning experience. The university's journey began on September 14, 1953, in Houston, Texas, as the South Texas Bible Institute. It swiftly evolved, expanding its curriculum to a four-year university and becoming Gulf Coast Bible College in 1955. This early commitment to comprehensive education set the stage for its future. Its pivotal move to Oklahoma City in 1985, rebranding as Mid-America Bible College, marked an expanded reach and vision.

MACU's dedication to academic excellence has been a constant throughout its history. It achieved associate membership with the American Association of Bible Colleges in 1966, securing full membership two years later. A significant milestone arrived in 1978 when it received full accreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, affirming its high standards and quality education.
