Midland University

Midland University, a vibrant private institution established in 1883, stands as a testament to transformative growth and unwavering commitment to its 3,342 students. The university's rich history began with the founding of Luther Academy in 1883 and Midland College in 1887. These two institutions eventually merged in 1962 to form Midland Lutheran College, which evolved into the modern Midland University in 2010. This journey was not without its challenges; in 2009, the institution faced a significant financial deficit and its lowest enrollment since WWII. However, through strategic vision, including welcoming students from the closing Dana College and a commitment to new programs, Midland University achieved a remarkable turnaround, transforming deficits into surpluses and more than doubling its enrollment.

Midland University prides itself on a strong academic foundation complemented by a robust student experience. A standout initiative is its program guaranteeing participating students will graduate in four years, a policy credited with a significant surge in freshman enrollment.
