Minerva University stands out as a pioneering institution reshaping higher education, known for its distinct, globally integrated, and highly selective undergraduate experience. Founded in 2012, it rejects traditional campuses, embracing a dynamic model where students live and learn in major world cities. The journey began in April 2012 when the Minerva Project secured significant venture funding, laying the groundwork for a revolutionary undergraduate program. A critical milestone was the hiring of Stephen Kosslyn in March 2013 as founding Dean, who brought esteemed experience from Stanford and Harvard to shape Minerva's unique seminar-based curriculum. This focus on interactive learning and intellectual rigor has been central to Minerva's academic design from its inception. In July 2013, a pivotal partnership with the Keck Graduate Institute officially launched the Minerva Schools, solidifying its academic foundation.

Minerva offers a robust academic portfolio across five undergraduate programs: Arts and Humanities, Business, Computational Sciences, Natural Sciences, and Social Sciences, alongside a Master of Science in Decision Analysis. Its curriculum emphasizes cross-disciplinary "Cornerstone Courses," a model so innovative it has attracted partnerships, such as with the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. The student experience is marked by its exclusivity; the inaugural class in 2014 saw only 29 students matriculate from 2,464 applications, boasting an incredibly low 2.8% acceptance rate, reflecting its commitment to selecting highly motivated and globally minded individuals ready to engage with its innovative, seminar-based learning model.
