Mississippi State University

Mississippi State University (MSU) stands as a beacon of public higher education, recognized among "R1: Doctoral Universities – Very High Research Activity." With a proud heritage rooted in its land-grant mission, MSU has evolved from its origins in agriculture and mechanical arts to become a comprehensive research institution offering over 180 baccalaureate, graduate, and professional degree programs across 12 colleges and schools. Established on February 28, 1878, as the Agricultural and Mechanical College of the State of Mississippi, MSU's foundation was built on the principles of the Morrill Act, aiming to provide practical education.
