While Montgomery College itself was founded in 1946, its educational roots draw from a rich lineage that includes the pioneering Bliss School of Electricity. Established in 1893, the Bliss School quickly became renowned for its innovative instruction in electricity, attracting notable students like Charles Francis Jenkins, a pioneer in motion pictures and television, and contributing significantly to the early advancement of technical education in the region.
