Napa Valley College

Founded in 1942, following a successful bond initiative passed by Napa County voters in 1941, it initially operated under a distinctive model. For over two decades, from 1942 to 1964, Napa Valley College functioned as a four-year junior college, seamlessly incorporating grades 11 through 14 and sharing a campus with Napa High School. This innovative approach ensured a comprehensive educational pathway for its early students.

Demonstrating its growth and dedication to providing a dedicated learning environment, the college transitioned to its current, independent campus in 1965. This move to a spacious new location, established on surplus state property that once belonged to Napa State Hospital, marked a significant milestone.
