National Park College, a public community college founded in 2003, offers a vibrant academic environment guided by its motto, "Find Your Path." NPC's history is marked by a significant merger in 2003, bringing together the legacies of Garland County Community College (established in 1973) and Quapaw Technical Institute (established in 1969). This strategic consolidation created a stronger, more comprehensive institution. A pivotal moment in its development occurred in 2006 when NPC received an unprecedented $1.5 million donation, the largest cash gift in the history of Arkansas community colleges. These funds were specifically allocated to build a state-of-the-art nursing and health sciences facility, underscoring the college's commitment to vital healthcare education.

Beyond its facilities, National Park College is committed to academic innovation and community support. By December 2007, the college had not only expanded its capital campaign but also initiated a joint program in early-childhood and middle-school teaching with Henderson State University, broadening its academic reach. Demonstrating its compassionate spirit, NPC actively assisted students displaced by Hurricane Katrina in 2005, enrolling them or helping them find suitable colleges, highlighting its role as a supportive educational pillar.
