About NationsUniversity
Bridging continents with accessible, faith-based education since 1996.
NationsUniversity stands as a beacon for accessible religious education, a unique institution forged from a vision of global outreach. Founded in 1996, it has dedicated itself to delivering quality faith-based learning across borders, empowering students to deepen their understanding and serve communities worldwide. With a student body of 1,500, NationsU embodies a commitment to making higher education attainable for those called to religious studies, regardless of their location.
The university's roots trace back to the pioneering efforts of Richard Ady, Mac Lynn, and Darrell Frazier. These visionary founders, one with a background in church work and another in higher education, sought to address a pressing need for religious education on a global scale. Their initial concept involved gathering volunteers who would travel internationally, conducting courses and seminars. This grassroots movement quickly gained momentum, enlisting around two hundred volunteers who shared a common passion for teaching and ministry.
As this volunteer-driven activity flourished, so did the demand for structured degree programs. Recognizing this evolving need, the organization officially incorporated in Louisiana on July 19, 1996, formally establishing NationsUniversity. This transformation marked a significant milestone, shifting from informal seminars to a recognized academic institution capable of granting degrees. This foundational spirit of global service and adaptable education continues to define NationsU's academic strengths, particularly in its comprehensive religious studies programs, delivered with an understanding of diverse international contexts.
