Nazarene Theological Seminary

Nazarene Theological Seminary (NTS) stands as the dedicated theological heart of the Church of the Nazarene, a denomination that has long championed education. Established in 1945, NTS arose from a clear need within the church to move beyond college religion departments and create a centralized institution focused entirely on ministerial training. This pivotal decision by the Eleventh General Assembly solidified its role as the premier graduate institution for future Nazarene pastors and leaders.

Nestled in Kansas City, Missouri, NTS began its journey with a pioneering spirit, initially welcoming 61 students to temporary quarters before establishing its permanent 10.5-acre campus in 1950. The seminary quickly built a robust academic foundation, bringing together distinguished faculty in essential disciplines such as Philosophy of Religion, Greek and Bible, Preaching and Pastoral Ministry, Church History, and Theology. This foundational strength ensures that students receive comprehensive and deeply rooted theological instruction.
