Nazareth University, a private institution nestled in Rochester, New York, offers a vibrant academic community built on a legacy of empowerment and holistic education. The university's story began in 1924, when five visionary Sisters of St. Joseph, at the request of Bishop Thomas Francis Hickey, established Nazareth College of Rochester. Their mission was clear: to offer exceptional undergraduate education to young women, starting with an inaugural class of just 25 students. Initially housed in the charming "Glass House" mansion, the college quickly grew, necessitating a move to a larger facility by 1928 to accommodate its expanding student body. This foundation in liberal arts education for women laid the groundwork for the inclusive and dynamic institution it is today.

From its earliest days, Nazareth offered robust Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees, each anchored by a comprehensive liberal arts core designed to foster critical thinking and well-rounded individuals. Today, as Nazareth University, it continues to uphold this commitment, ensuring students receive a broad and deep education.
