Initially serving 115 female students, the institution evolved, becoming Neumann College in 1980 in honor of its namesake, and embracing co-education in the same year. This expansion laid the groundwork for its eventual achievement of university status in 2009, marking a significant milestone in its journey of growth and academic advancement.

Academically, Neumann University has demonstrated its commitment to advanced studies by offering rigorous doctoral programs, including the Doctorate in Physical Therapy since 2004 and an Ed.D. in educational leadership since 2005.
