New England College of Optometry

For over a century, the New England College of Optometry (NECO) has stood as a beacon of excellence in vision care education. NECO's rich history traces back to 1894, when it was founded as the Klein School of Optics by the distinguished ophthalmologist August Andreas Klein. Over the years, this venerable institution underwent several transformations, moving to various locations across Boston and known at different times as the Massachusetts School of Optometry and the Massachusetts College of Optometry. This journey ultimately led it to its current, prominent home in Boston's historic Back Bay.

Today, NECO offers comprehensive Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) and Master of Science in Vision Science degrees, both emphasizing rigorous academic training combined with unparalleled practical application.
