New Saint Andrews College

New Saint Andrews College, founded in 1994 in historic downtown Moscow, Idaho, offers a distinctive academic experience for students seeking a rigorous, faith-based education. Though relatively young, the college has quickly established itself as a significant institution within the landscape of private higher education, attracting a close-knit community of 221 students drawn to its unique approach to learning.

Known for its commitment to conservative principles and Christian faith, New Saint Andrews College has garnered national attention. In 2006, it was recognized by the Intercollegiate Studies Institute as one of the top 50 schools for "conservatives, old-fashioned liberals, and people of faith." This recognition, alongside features on the Christian Broadcasting Network in 2006 and in The New York Times Magazine in 2007, underscores its unique position and growing influence in shaping intellectual and cultural discourse.

The college's journey began with just four students, growing steadily to its present form. Its permanent home in the historic Skattaboe Block, a building erected in 1892, provides a rich historical backdrop to its academic pursuits. Under the leadership of President Benjamin R. Merkle since 2014, the college is not only preserving its heritage but also actively planning for the future, including the exciting prospect of developing a music conservatory in a newly acquired downtown building, reflecting its ambition for continued growth and expanded offerings.
