Nicolet Area Technical College

Nicolet Area Technical College stands as a vital public community college, dedicated to serving 2000 students under the leadership of President Kate Ferrel. Nestled in a picturesque region, Nicolet offers accessible and practical education designed to equip students with the skills needed for rewarding careers and continued academic growth. It embodies the spirit of community, providing a supportive environment where every student can thrive.

The college's history is rooted in a commitment to regional education, with the Nicolet College District officially established in 1967. This foundational step paved the way for classes to begin just a year later, in January 1968. Initially, the college made its home in downtown Rhinelander, utilizing temporary spaces before its permanent campus could take shape, a testament to its immediate dedication to its student body.

Soon after its inception, college officials secured 280 acres of land just south of Rhinelander, marking the genesis of the beautiful Lake Julia Campus. The pioneering Science Center, now known as the University Student Center, was the first building constructed between 1969 and 1970, laying the groundwork for the modern facilities enjoyed today. Students today benefit from key facilities like the Red Oak Center, which acts as a welcoming hub and central point for student services, ensuring a comprehensive and supportive learning journey from enrollment to graduation.
