Clarkesville Campus was originally home to the Georgia Ninth District School of Agriculture and Mechanical Arts.

1938

Campus was home to "Habersham College" and the National Youth Administration.

1943

Georgia General Assembly created a vocational division; initial location for North Georgia Trade and Vocational School chosen.

1944

North Georgia Trade and Vocational School accepted its first student.

1962

School's name changed to North Georgia Technical and Vocational School.

1985

Placed under the governance of the new state board, now the Technical College System of Georgia.

1987

Name changed to North Georgia Technical Institute.
