The college's deep roots trace back to the early 20th century, emerging from city vocational schools established in Green Bay and Marinette in 1912. In 1968, these pioneering schools, including the Sturgeon Bay school established in 1941, unified to form the Northeast Wisconsin Technical Institute, strategically serving nine counties across the region.
