Northeast Wisconsin Technical College

As a vital institution within the Wisconsin Technical College System, NWTC is renowned for its practical, hands-on training that directly addresses the needs of the modern workforce, extending its impact across nine counties. The college's rich history traces back to the early 20th century, emerging from a progressive movement to standardize and enhance the education of Wisconsin's working young adults. Initially, vocational schools were founded in Green Bay and Marinette in 1912, followed by Sturgeon Bay in 1941. These institutions were pioneers in providing essential academic and job skills, evolving to serve adults of all ages seeking technical excellence and career advancement.

In 1968, these foundational schools merged to form a unified district known as Northeast Wisconsin Technical Institute, significantly expanding their reach and impact. This consolidation paved the way for the institution's comprehensive growth, culminating in its renaming to Northeast Wisconsin Technical College in the late 1980s.
