Northern Kentucky University (NKU) stands as a testament to dynamic growth and academic evolution, having blossomed from humble beginnings into a vibrant, comprehensive university. What started in 1948 as a small extension campus for the University of Kentucky in Covington, it swiftly developed its own identity, becoming the autonomous Northern Kentucky State College (NKSC) in 1968.
