Northwest State Community College

Northwest State Community College (NSCC) stands as a vital educational hub, dedicated to providing accessible and impactful learning opportunities in Ohio. As a public community college, NSCC serves a vibrant student body of 4,123 individuals, offering a welcoming environment where students can pursue their academic and career aspirations. Under the leadership of President Todd Hernandez, NSCC is committed to fostering a supportive community focused on student success and regional development.

The journey of Northwest State began in 1968 when the Ohio Board of Regents approved its creation, originally known as the "Four County Technical Institute." This initial phase laid the groundwork for what would become a cornerstone of regional education, focusing on technical training crucial for the workforce. Four years later, in 1972, the institution evolved, taking on the name Northwest Technical College to better reflect its growing scope and offerings.

A significant milestone arrived in 1994 when the institute officially transformed into Northwest State Community College. This final name change solidified its mission to deliver comprehensive community college education, providing a wide array of programs designed to equip students for immediate workforce entry or seamless transfer to four-year universities. NSCC continues its proud tradition of adapting to meet the evolving needs of its students and the communities it serves, making higher education attainable and transformative for thousands.
