Ocean County College

Ocean County College stands as a cornerstone of educational opportunity in Ocean County, New Jersey. Its establishment followed the New Jersey County College Act of 1962, which empowered counties to create local colleges and offered state financial support. This legislative framework paved the way for a public referendum in Ocean County in 1963, which led to the official establishment of Ocean County College by the Ocean County Board of Chosen Freeholders in January 1964. The doors opened for the very first time in the fall of 1964, marking the beginning of its enduring legacy.
