Olivet Nazarene University

Olivet Nazarene University stands as a vibrant Christian institution dedicated to holistic education. From its modest beginnings in 1907 as a grammar school, Olivet has grown into a comprehensive university known for its commitment to academic rigor within a faith-based community. Established in 1907, it rapidly evolved, acquiring land, chartering as Illinois Holiness University in 1909, and later affiliating with the Church of the Nazarene. Facing challenges like bankruptcy in 1926 and a devastating fire in 1939, Olivet demonstrated remarkable fortitude, relocating to its current 42-acre campus in 1940 and rebranding over the decades to its present form as Olivet Nazarene University in 1986.
