Orangeburg Calhoun Technical College (OC Tech) stands as a vital public community college, dedicated to empowering futures across South Carolina. Born from a forward-thinking initiative in 1961 to address the decline in traditional agricultural and textile industries, OC Tech was established to provide essential technical and vocational training. Its commitment to excellence was recognized early, achieving full accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools in 1970. This pivotal achievement, combined with its expanding post-secondary mission, led to its rebranding as Orangeburg–Calhoun Technical College in 1974, a name that truly reflects its comprehensive educational scope.
