Established on April 3, 1990, OTC rapidly grew from its humble beginnings as Heart of the Ozarks Community Technical College. Initially holding classes at various sites including Cox Medical Center North and former vocational technical center buildings, the institution quickly expanded its reach, soon offering general education courses in the North Town Mall. This swift evolution, coupled with the appointment of Dr. Norman K. Myers as founding president in September 1990 and its subsequent renaming to Ozarks Technical Community College in 1994, showcases OTC's commitment to responsive and expansive educational opportunities for its community.
