Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences (PNWU) stands as a vibrant hub for health education, dedicated to addressing the critical healthcare needs of the Pacific Northwest and beyond. Founded as a private medical school, PNWU has rapidly evolved into a comprehensive health sciences institution, known for its commitment to osteopathic medicine and its expanding portfolio of professional programs. With 650 students, PNWU is shaping the next generation of compassionate and skilled healthcare providers.

The university's journey began in 2005, driven by a vision to establish a new osteopathic medical school in Washington State. After receiving provisional accreditation in 2007, PNWU welcomed its first students in 2008, coinciding with the opening of its main building, Butler-Haney Hall. Despite initial challenges in securing clinical rotation sites—a hurdle successfully overcome—the university saw its inaugural class of 69 Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) students graduate in 2012, marking a significant milestone in its young history.

PNWU's academic strengths are rooted in its flagship DO program, complemented by a strategic and rapid expansion of its health sciences offerings. Recognizing the diverse demands of modern healthcare, the university launched its Master of Arts in Medical Sciences (MAMS) program in 2021, followed by the opening of the School of Physical Therapy in 2022, the School of Occupational Therapy in 2023, and the School of Dental Medicine, which accepted its first class in 2024. This growth underscores PNWU's dedication to providing a broad range of high-quality health education.
