Pasco-Hernando State College

Pasco-Hernando State College (PHSC) stands as a vital public institution within the Florida College System, serving nearly 10,000 students across its dynamic campuses. From its roots as a community college, PHSC has strategically evolved into a State College, offering a rich array of academic programs designed to prepare students for both immediate career entry and advanced educational pursuits.

Established by the Florida Legislature in 1967 and opening its doors in 1972, PHSC has a history marked by purposeful growth and adaptation. In 2014, the college officially changed its name to Pasco–Hernando State College, reflecting its significant step into offering baccalaureate programs. This expansion wasn't just academic; it included the opening of a fifth campus, the Porter Campus at Wiregrass Ranch, which was made possible by generous land donations and further cemented its presence in the region.
