Pierpont Community and Technical College

Pierpont Community and Technical College stands as a cornerstone for career-ready education in West Virginia. A significant turning point arrived in 2006 when the college was proudly renamed Pierpont Community & Technical College, honoring Francis H. Pierpont. At this time, it also transitioned to become a division of Fairmont State University, further solidifying its academic foundation. However, its path to a distinct identity was swift, as it achieved full independence just a year later, in 2007, establishing its own Board of Governors to steer its unique educational vision.
