Just three years later, in 1969, the first classes commenced in a variety of innovative, temporary locations, including a converted airplane hangar at Tucson International Airport, Tucson Medical Center, Villa Maria, and Marana. This early adaptability set the stage for a dynamic institution, officially renaming itself Pima Community College in 1972 to better reflect its expansive mission and commitment to the community.

Pima Community College has demonstrated remarkable resilience throughout its history, successfully navigating challenges and reaffirming its commitment to academic excellence.
