Pitt Community College

Since its inception in 1961 as an industrial education center, PCC has continuously evolved to meet the needs of its community, transforming into a comprehensive public community college known for its robust academic programs and vibrant student life. The college's journey began modestly, quickly expanding its vocational offerings before being designated a technical institute in 1964. A pivotal moment arrived in 1979 when it officially became Pitt Community College, signifying the addition of vital two-year University Transfer programs, opening pathways to four-year institutions. This historical progression has been marked by significant campus development, including the opening of numerous buildings dedicated to diverse fields such as STEM, allied health, and vocational trades, ensuring state-of-the-art facilities for learning.
