Pitt Community College

Pitt Community College (PCC) stands as a cornerstone of education and opportunity in eastern North Carolina, dedicated to "Educating and Empowering People for Success." Since its charter in 1961, PCC has grown from an industrial education center into a vibrant public community college, serving over 7,400 students with a dynamic range of programs designed to meet both workforce demands and university transfer goals. PCC's journey began as the Pitt Industrial Education Center, quickly evolving to become Pitt Technical Institute in 1964, expanding its vocational and technical offerings. The pivotal year of 1979 saw its transformation into Pitt Community College, broadening its scope to include vital two-year University Transfer programs, providing students with pathways to four-year institutions.
