Prince George's Community College

Prince George's Community College (PGCC) stands as a beacon of educational opportunity, committed to "Transforming Lives." Founded in 1958 with a vision to meet the educational needs of county residents, PGCC has grown into a vibrant institution serving over 10,000 students. It's renowned for its deep commitment to diversity and inclusion, notably being the first educational institution to integrate in Prince George's County and proudly serving more African-American students than any other post-secondary institution in Maryland.

From its humble beginnings with 185 students at Suitland High School, PGCC quickly established its permanent home in Largo, Maryland, in 1967. This move marked the beginning of significant expansion, evolving from a handful of buildings to a comprehensive campus with 22 facilities. This growth reflects the college's dedication to providing a robust learning environment tailored to student success, preparing them for transfer to four-year institutions or direct entry into the workforce.

Students at PGCC become part of a rich legacy and a forward-thinking community. Under the leadership of President Dr. Falecia D. Williams, the college continues to foster an engaging and supportive atmosphere. Prospective students and their families will find a college deeply rooted in its community, dedicated to academic excellence, and providing a crucial stepping stone for a diverse range of educational and career aspirations.
