About Randall University
Randall University: Christian higher education with a rich history in Oklahoma.
Randall University stands as a beacon of Christian higher education in Oklahoma, deeply rooted in the Free Will Baptist tradition. Located on a dedicated campus south of Oklahoma City, the university is committed to fostering a learning environment where faith and academic pursuits are seamlessly integrated, preparing students for lives of purpose and service aligned with its core values.
The institution's journey began with the aspirations of Free Will Baptists in Oklahoma, with early efforts for higher education dating back to 1905. This vision materialized with the opening of Tecumseh College in 1917. Despite a setback when the Tecumseh campus was destroyed by fire in 1927, the commitment to establishing a permanent educational institution never wavered. This perseverance led to the official opening of Oklahoma Bible College (OBC) in Tulsa in 1959, which later moved to its current campus in 1966. The school was renamed Hillsdale Free Will Baptist College in 1971, honoring a historic institution.
In 2016, the university embraced its current name, Randall University, paying tribute to Benjamin Randall (1749–1808), an influential abolitionist preacher and founder of the Free Will Baptists in New England. This name change reflects a continued dedication to its heritage while looking towards the future. Randall University provides a distinctive faith-based educational experience, underscored by its commitment to religious freedom, as evidenced by its Title IX exception granted in 2017, allowing it to maintain its religious convictions within its student community.
