Red Rocks Community College

Red Rocks Community College (RRCC) stands as a vital pillar within the Colorado Community College System, offering a dynamic and accessible educational experience. Since its establishment in 1969, RRCC has grown to serve a thriving community of 14,000 students, fostering an environment where individuals can pursue their academic and career aspirations close to home. The college's journey began with a vision for accessible higher education. What started as a campus of the Community College of Denver quickly gained momentum, leading to the groundbreaking of its permanent Lakewood campus in 1971. By 1973, the first phase of construction was complete, laying the foundation for what would become an independent institution. This commitment to growth culminated in 1983 when the campus officially became Red Rocks Community College, solidifying its unique identity and mission. Further demonstrating its dedication to community access, RRCC expanded its reach by opening a second campus in Arv90.

Today, RRCC continues to thrive under the leadership of its tenth president, Dr. Landon Pirius, who took the helm in March 2024. With a substantial student body of 14,000, the college offers a rich and varied student experience, preparing graduates with the skills and knowledge needed for success in an evolving world.
