Research College of Nursing

For over a century, Research College of Nursing has been a cornerstone in healthcare education, cultivating dedicated nurses to meet the evolving demands of the medical field. Established in 1905 as the German Hospital Training School, this private institution has consistently adapted and grown, maintaining its commitment to a focused, high-quality nursing curriculum.

The college's journey includes significant historical milestones, such as graduating its first class in 1909 and forming a pivotal partnership with Rockhurst University in 1979 to expand educational opportunities. More recently, in 2018, Research College of Nursing embarked on an exciting new chapter by announcing its return to full independence from Rockhurst University, solidifying its unique identity and strategic vision.

Looking ahead, the college is poised for remarkable growth and enhanced student experiences. In 2023, in collaboration with HCA Healthcare, plans were unveiled for a state-of-the-art $34.5 million, 78,000-square-foot facility. This significant expansion, strategically located adjacent to Research Medical Center, is designed to substantially increase enrollment capacity, offering even more aspiring nurses access to its specialized programs and a vibrant learning environment.
