Rivier University

Rivier University, a private institution nestled in Nashua, New Hampshire, stands as a testament to its enduring mission of Catholic social teaching and dedicated service to the economically disadvantaged. Since its inception in 1933, Rivier has fostered an environment where students are encouraged to achieve "Altiora et Meliora" – Higher and Better – aligning with its commitment to intellectual and personal growth.

Initially founded as Rivier College by the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary, the university bears the name of its esteemed founder, Anne-Marie Rivier. A significant milestone occurred in 1941 when the college relocated to its present-day campus in Nashua. Over the decades, Rivier has evolved, notably becoming coeducational in 1991, welcoming male undergraduate students to its vibrant community. The institution marked another pivotal moment on July 1, 2012, officially becoming Rivier University, reflecting its expanded academic scope and impact. Its rich history even includes a visit from then-Senator John F. Kennedy and Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis in 1960, shortly after Kennedy's first presidential campaign event in Nashua.
