The college's journey began with a clear focus on practical skills, initially offering evening trade classes in the basement of Saint Paul Central High School. A significant milestone occurred in 1966 when it moved into its current facility and was renamed Saint Paul Technical Vocational Institute. Over the years, Saint Paul College has consistently adapted to meet the evolving needs of its community, notably adding liberal arts to its curriculum in 2002. This expansion broadened its appeal, creating a well-rounded educational experience that combines theoretical knowledge with hands-on expertise.

Among its distinguished offerings, Saint Paul College was home to the nation's oldest watchmaking and clockmaking programs, a testament to its commitment to specialized vocational excellence. This prestigious program garnered international recognition, including a grant from Rolex and the opportunity to offer the highly respected WOSTEP certificate.
