Sampson Community College

The college's journey began in September 1965, initially established as an extension unit of the Goldsboro Industrial Education Center, now known as Wayne Community College. This foundational period laid the groundwork for what was to become an independent and impactful institution. A significant milestone arrived in 1967 when SCC officially became an independent unit, first known as "Sampson Technical Institute," before proudly adopting its current name, Sampson Community College, later that same year. This transition marked its commitment to independent growth and tailored educational offerings for Sampson County.
