Santa Fe Community College

Santa Fe Community College (SFCC), a cornerstone of higher education in New Mexico, has been dedicated to serving its community since its inception in 1983. What began as a visionary initiative by the New Mexico State Legislature, providing $1.5 million in funding, quickly grew from offering classes in temporary locations around Santa Fe to establishing a vibrant, permanent campus. SFCC is known for its responsive approach to regional needs, continuously expanding its offerings and facilities to equip students with practical skills and academic foundations vital for success.

The college's history is a testament to its commitment to growth and student success. From the initial bond-funded construction in 1984, SFCC has steadily added state-of-the-art facilities, including a dedicated fitness building, a crucial technology and occupation lab, and an early childhood development center. Its evolution continued with the addition of a fine arts center, an instructional technology hub, and a groundbreaking sustainability program initiated in 2005, reflecting a forward-thinking curriculum and community engagement.

Today, SFCC stands out for its robust academic strengths, particularly in health and sciences, and trades and technology, areas bolstered by significant investments in modern facilities like the health and sciences building (begun in 2009) and the trades and technology center (opened in 2011). Under the dynamic leadership of President Becky Rowley, who joined in 2019, the college fosters an engaging and supportive environment.
