Shawnee State University

Shawnee State University, a dynamic public institution in Ohio, traces its academic lineage to a 1945 Ohio University center in Portsmouth. However, its true birth as a standalone university came through a unique legislative act in 1986, championed by Vern Riffe, then Speaker of the Ohio House of Representatives.
