Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College

Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College (SKYCTC) boasts a rich history, evolving from its humble beginnings in 1939 as the Western Trade School. Initially operated by Western Kentucky State Teachers College (later Western Kentucky University), its journey reflects a continuous commitment to adapting and expanding its educational offerings to meet regional needs.

The college truly came into its own in 1962, gaining independence from WKU and embarking on a path of significant growth and transformation. After a period of name changes, it solidified its place in Kentucky's higher education landscape by joining the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) in 1997, becoming Bowling Green Technical College.

A pivotal moment arrived on December 7, 2012, when the institution proudly adopted its current name, Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College.
