The modern Southeastern Technical College as we know it today was officially established on July 1, 2009, following a strategic merger. This pivotal consolidation brought together the legacies of both the Swainsboro Technical College and the Southeastern Technical College, which had been founded in Vidalia in 1988. This merger, initiated by the Technical College System of Georgia, aimed to enhance educational efficiencies and strengthen vocational offerings across the state, creating a unified institution with a broader impact.
