Southern California University of Health Sciences (SCUHS) stands as a dynamic and forward-thinking institution dedicated to health education. Initially founded in 1911 as the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic (LACC) by Dr. Charles Cale and his wife, Linnie Cale, the university has a rich history of adapting and expanding to meet the evolving needs of healthcare. What began with a modest three students in the Cales' private residence has blossomed into a comprehensive university, known for its foundational excellence in chiropractic medicine and its progressive embrace of integrated health sciences.

SCUHS is particularly recognized for its pioneering role in chiropractic education, being the only chiropractic college accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) in 1993. This commitment to academic rigor and accreditation standards underscores its dedication to producing highly qualified practitioners. Beyond its chiropractic heritage, the university significantly broadened its academic offerings between 1999 and 2000, reorganizing to include a prominent College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, thereby becoming the Southern California University of Health Sciences.
