Demonstrating its commitment to providing cutting-edge learning environments, Southwest Tech celebrated the completion of a state-of-the-art $19.3 million building in 2016. This expansion was significantly bolstered by a substantial $200,000 grant from the George S. and Dolores Dore Eccles Foundation in 2015, specifically allocated for acquiring essential classroom and lab equipment, particularly enhancing programs within the new Health Professions and Trades Building.

Academically, Southwest Tech is known for its forward-thinking initiatives and strong industry partnerships. A prime example is the Utah Aerospace Pathway Initiative, launched in the fall of 2016.
