SOWELA's academic prowess is evident in its specialized facilities, such as the Phillips 66 Process Technology building, the Nursing and Allied Health building, and the Arts and Humanities building. The main campus in Lake Charles, significantly rebuilt and enhanced following Hurricane Rita in 2005 with new facilities, ensures a comprehensive and comfortable college experience. Further demonstrating its commitment to student services and accessibility, an $8 million Student Services building was completed by mid-2017 on the Lake Charles campus, alongside a new $10 million facility in Jennings replacing the Morgan Smith Instructional Site, solidifying SOWELA's expansive reach and dedication to high-quality education across the region.
