Spokane Falls Community College (SFCC) offers a vibrant learning environment rooted in a unique history. It's known for its beautiful campus, originally built on the grounds of the former Fort George Wright, and its enduring cooperative relationship with Spokane Community College, ensuring a collaborative and resource-rich experience for students.

The college's foundations are deeply tied to the Spokane area's history. After Fort George Wright was declared surplus by the U.S. Government, a vision for higher education emerged, leading to the proposal of a college on the site in 1960. SFCC officially opened its doors in 1967, initially as part of Spokane Community College. Just three years later, in 1970, the two institutions evolved into separate colleges while consciously choosing to maintain a supportive, cooperative approach—a testament to their shared commitment to the community.

SFCC's campus reflects a commitment to comprehensive education. The original site featured eight newly constructed buildings, each designed for specific academic and administrative functions, including dedicated spaces for physical and natural sciences, social sciences, business, communications, fine arts, and a library. These facilities, characterized by their consistent Modern architectural style with distinctive wide, wavy concrete eaves, provide a strong foundation for a wide range of academic pursuits. With 3,805 students, SFCC cultivates a close-knit yet expansive learning atmosphere, preparing students for university transfer or direct entry into their chosen careers within a campus that blends historical significance with contemporary learning.
