Stewart School

Stewart School, Cuttack, stands as a venerable institution with a rich history dating back to 1882. Originally established as the European Orphanage School, it quickly evolved, opening its doors to Indian students in 1891 and eventually being rechristened in honor of its founder, Dr. William Day Stewart, a visionary Civil Surgeon. Today, it proudly maintains its identity as an Anglo-Indian School, playing a significant role in education within the region and serving as the oldest among five Stewart Schools under the management of the Diocese of Cuttack, Church of North India.

Affiliated with the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), New Delhi, the school has a long-standing tradition of academic rigor, including being recognized as a Higher Elementary School as early as 1910 and securing Cambridge Examination center status in 1924.
