Founded by Richard A. Forrest in Golden Valley, North Carolina, as the Golden Valley Institute.

The Haddock Inn, serving as a classroom and residence building, was destroyed by fire.

Secondary courses were reorganized and accredited as Toccoa Falls High School.

The state of Georgia chartered the four-year college program, allowing it to grant a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Education.

Toccoa Falls High School closed.

1977

The Kelly Barnes Dam collapsed, causing a flood that killed 39 people and damaged much of the campus.

Gate Cottage, one of the most historic buildings on campus, was destroyed by fire.
