Tohono O'odham Community College

Nestled in Sells, Arizona, Tohono O'odham Community College (TOCC) stands as a beacon of education and cultural preservation, deeply rooted in the Tohono O'odham Nation. TOCC's journey began in 1998 when the Tohono O'odham Nation proudly chartered the college. Just two years later, in 2000, TOCC welcomed its first cohort of students, initially offering associate degrees and certificates with accreditation provided through an innovative intergovernmental agreement with Pima County Community College District. This foundational period paved the way for a significant milestone: in February 2003, TOCC achieved full accreditation from the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, solidifying its academic standing. The following year, in 2004, the college's unique mission was further recognized with its designation as a land-grant college, placing it among a distinguished group of tribal institutions.
