Trinity Law School

Trinity Law School, originally established in 1980 as the Simon Greenleaf School of Law, offers a distinct legal education experience rooted in its unique heritage. Named in honor of the renowned 19th-century Harvard law professor, Simon Greenleaf, known for his expertise in evidence law, the institution was co-founded by John Warwick Montgomery. It began its journey by providing a comprehensive legal curriculum, including the Juris Doctor (JD) and a Bachelor of Science in Law (BSL), alongside a specialized post-graduate Master of Arts program in Christian Apologetics and International Human Rights.

From its initial home at Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa in Santa Ana, California, the school underwent several relocations. It moved to Anaheim in 1982 before settling into its current Santa Ana campus in 1997. This foundational period laid the groundwork for an institution dedicated to integrating rigorous legal study with a broader ethical and theological perspective, particularly through its emphasis on human rights and Christian apologetics.

In 1997, a significant milestone occurred when the law school became an integral part of Trinity International University (TIU), an institution headquartered in Deerfield, Illinois. This affiliation further solidified its commitment to providing a values-based legal education within a wider academic framework.
